Hi- I have an old CASE 580CK Series B backhoe S/N 5245xxx. The steering went out completely. So, I thought maybe the P/S pump died, so I bought an aftermarket pump for $160. Same result. When, I raise the wheels and manually turn the tires, the steering wheel spins accordingly. But turning the steering wheel doesn't move the wheels at all. Any ideas on what could be the problem? I purchased a steering valve rebuild kit(A36396), but didn't receive it yet. Any ideas on what the problem is? I hate to start replacing everything. I especially dread to remove the steering wheel to service the manual pump.
