Case 446 trans axle

Hello. I just purchased a case 446 that needs some trans work. Can anyone tell me if all the trans gears from a 224 will fit in my 446? Thanks.

I'll answer your question first by say that "YES..they are the same."

However.... gear damage inside a Case or Ingersoll trans-axle is ultra-rare because they are oversize for the application and torque-protected by the relief valve in the hydraulic system.

If your 446 has an issue, it is most likely caused by the bolts holding the Hi and Lo Range gears to the centre section shearing off.

Would you kindly share the name of the site where you found that erroneous information? The readership here should be made aware of such things.

FACT: The gear ratios are identical between the Lo Pro Series and the Hi Wheel Series. It is the internal displacement of the hydraulic drive motor that compensates for the difference in rear wheel circumference.
