Case 4240
I'm not sure if this is the right forum for this question
I have a Case 4240 which I am pretty happy with. It pretty much does all I need it to do. It has a front loader which I have never really put to the test until this year. I tried to lift some round bales of silage. It will not lift them. I can hear the relief valve cutting in. I measured the hydraulic oil pressure which reads 2400psi. I am told these tractors have a cartridge relief valve. My question is , can these valves be shimmed or adjusted in any way to bring the pressure up. I would appreciate any suggestions anyone might have. Thanks

Welcome to TBN.

I would not try to increase the loader lift capacity. The capacity is engineered for that tractor to allow safe operation and so you don’t break axles, blow tires or bend loader components.
2400 psi sounds like the proper pressure as most hydraulic systems run between 2200 to 2400 psi.
