Case 2130 4x4 won't engage....help

Hi all my case 2130 won't engage 4x4 . a few weeks ago it was a little fussy going in , I thought linkage problems. But then it would just slide in , today it wouldn't go in at all and I have climbed under it and I do not think it is the linkages after all ... any ideas?
