Case 188 Diesel -- Oil Selection

I have a recently acquired 1968 Case 580 CK with a 188 cu. in. Diesel. All the old manuals suggest using a single weight oil, but I would rather not have to engage in seasonal oil changes. Does anyone use 15w-40 in their 188? It is what I use in the other two diesels I own and would like to keep them all consistent if I can. What is your experience out there?

You can't possibly go wrong with a high quality 15W-40 CI-4 OR CJ-4 oil.

I use 15/40 in my 480C with the 188, and am in the process of weaning everything I have over to it, other than the lawn & garden stuff.
