Good idea Rich! I'm still thinking on how to built a chainsaw carry-system that's easy to attach and remove from the tractor.

While you're at it, make room for the extra saw, gas, oil and tools and then I'll copy you. I've been lucky I haven't destroyed a chainsaw with some of the goofs from forgetting they were in the bucket. My Farmi winch has a spot for carrying the saw, but I usually take two and the extras. I've got a utility trailer set up with a Knack job box to carry equipment, maybe I'll invent a hitch for the winch and start using that again.

Richh thats a pretty good idea for transporting that color coordinated chain saw of yours. But do they make one that is New Holland blue for my rig? /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

So, do you keep it running, in case some branches get in your way?

Hey PineRidge, you are in luck, Makita bought Sachs Dolmar and are now making Makita chain saws, and they are blue. Bargain Supply Co. in Lou. Ky had them the last time I was there, probably a year ago.

RichH. Good idea. How is the wooden box attached/fastened? What size is the blade of the chain saw? Thanks.

I have no faith in Makita chainsaws. Bought one new to clear our lot and it was always giving me fits. I ended up with a Stihl and couldn't be happier. Ever if it's not blue. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Rich:

you should have mounted the saw with the blade up and out slightly so all you have to do is start it up and drive through the woods, instant path! lol.

Slightly off topic, but are those the standard Ag tires on your rig or something else?
