Carburetor Issue

I replaced the carb with an after market. Tractor runs smooth at an idle, flat road and uphill. Runs better than has in years. It dies going down hill. If I catch it in time I can choke it and keep it running. I have turned the front knob about 3 turns 1/8 at a time. What am o missing.

Sounds like the float is not set high enough. I have heard that some who have purchased the aftermarket carbs have had to reset the float level to get them to run right.
