My Carbide Cutter has an adjustable cutter blade behind the rotor. According to the manual, it should have been shipped with an 1/8" gap between the carbides & the blade. It currently has a 1/4" gap.

Does anyone have any experience on performance with more or less gap on Carbide Cutters?

The manual states the gap is dependent on the power of equipment, but doesn't have any guidelines. I'm running an RC100 with a No. 8 hydraulic motor.

the gap setting determines the size of the material discharged...tighter the gap smaller the discharge

Thus the more power that is required. Caskey, try decreasing the gap and see what happens. Depending on the desired final mulch you may better off to leave the gap a little as it will cut faster and you'll burn less fuel etc.
