carb flooding

Picked up a snapper at a yard sale cheap. Got it running but when you turn it off,
Gas floods out of the top of the carb. Any Idea's.

Floats probably sticking

If it has the old copper float may have pin hole in it, filling up with gas and sinking.

After you fix the needle valve and float, install a gas shut off valve between the carb and tank.
