Carb Finish

I just got this Carb from Steiner. The finish is raw and I'm wondering if I should paint prior to install. Should I worry about rust or just bolt
her up?

My rule of thumb if it is magnetic, it would rust. Probably a dumb rule. So if appearance matters and it is ferrous I'd paint it. If it is aluminum or some other non ferrous alloy it could go either way. Most everything oxidizes though.

you can paint it.. but don't get stupid and let the paint gum up the adjustment needles and vents.. etc.

cast iron forms a patina and then pretty much stops rusting...
