Carb adjustment on JD 322 Lawn Tractor

I have a 1986 John Deere 322 lawn tractor with 436 hours. The tractor sat for 3 years. I have cleaned out the carb, gas lines, tank pump, and replaced the filter. It fires right up but I'm not sure on the adjustment to the carb. It runs but the rpm ocsillates when at high rpm. ALso seems like the governor sticks and when I throttle up I have to flick it loose to get the motor to rev? Can anyone tell me what the adjustment screw on the side of the carb should be? Also, how can I keep the governor from sticking?

I am not sure about the settings but you might have sediment or varnish in the carburetor. On mine the fuel shutoff solenoid needs to be replaced and maybe other parts as well because the throttle or governor sticks as well. If you know of a place to get parts I would appreciate it.

The adjustment is in the service manual and it depends on which version of the 322 you have. On my 322 when it was surging I had a leak at the welch plug. I can email you the service manual if you can get me an address. I have the earlier version and have been very happy with it but use it a lot. It is a working tractor, snow in the winter and mowing and lawn work in the summer.
