Car Tire Date Code ?

So I found a new set of tires on Ebay for my wife's 09 VW Tiguan. I asked the seller about the date code and they were manufactured the 39th week of 2012. Would you be concerned with a tire that is that old? It's a good deal for the tires. Here is the listing.

I wouldn't worry about it. They will last at least 4 more years and be wore out by the time the supposed eight year when people say they are supposedly to be changed.

I'm still driving a set of Bridgestone 420 M&S that are 13 YO with 28 M miles on my Crown Vic. They look good, but I'd really like to buy a new set. Based on Deere Dude's comment, they ought to be replaced.
