JD 90 skid steer. It's an '83 model. Tilt cylinder. It's 2" in diameter with a 1" rod. The end cap is round with 4 notches. I'm using a 24" pipe wrench to turn it, and I've have made 4 or 5 complete revolutions but that end cap does not want to unscrew. I've tried turning it with the rod all the way down and all the way up, makes no difference. What should I try next? Thanks in advance.

If you've turned that gland 5 times and it didn't move, all the threads are gone in the cylinder and/or the gland nut.
Sorry to say, You need a new one.

By chance does the cylinder have a small window for a lock ring up towards the cap?
