Can't ID diesel fuel filter

Hi, I tried to buy a new diesel fuel filter for my Takeuchi, but it turns out that a previous owner changed the filter + housing to a different size.
My problem is that the filter I'm trying to replace doesn't have a number on it. Any ideas? [The guy at my local store suggested I just wash the old one, so you know he's stumped!]

Take it to a NAPA store and they can match it up with a wix.
