Cant get a L4400DT till May:(

Well back in Dec I had my nieghbor bring in my L3400 for its 500hr checkup and while it was there I decided to trade it in and get me a L4400DT I thought everything was a done deal. Now for some reason the factory cant get one till shipped till April or May. And there would be a price increase if its not in by Feb 1st or something like that. But I been told that they could ship a L4400HST before the Feb 1st price increase. Being that I am over here in Iraq sort of hard figure this all out. Cant find any info on the new L4400HST and with that I dont want to be the one who gets one and they have problems or issues. I dont think will happen but you just never know. The L3400 was rock solid never a hint of issue. So do I stick with the L4400DT and just wait till May, I was going to be home in late March so I wouldnt even get to use it till maybe Aug or Sept. Or go with the L4400HST, or just keep my L3400 and wait till I get back and work out deal in 09?? Oh price is $1300.00 more than the DT

If you can swing the added cost of the HST on the 4400, I'd go with that. I've had both gear and hydro machines over the years, and was a little reluctant to go to the hydro on my last machine, but now, there's no way I'm going back to gear.

In my experience, hydro is much, much nicer for dirtwork (both FEL and rear implement), and snow removal - heck, it's even far superior for mowing (either mid mount or 3pt), so long as you have enough power for the tasks you have planned (yes, you do lose a little hp through the hydro tranny), you should be fine.

The L4400 should have plenty of power - quite a bit more than your L3400, even in hydro.

Well just got off the phone with the dealer and he said the Kubota rep is making a specail effort to get me a DT and that not to worry about it that it will be a done deal and when I get back from Iraq it will be ready to go

The paper work will be on its way to me by the end of the week guaranteed.
Got to like that.
