Holds 41.2 Quarts (10.3 Gallons) Fill is red cap above the top link...
There should be a sight gauge on the rear left of PTO...
How do you blow through the Hydraulic filter?

Is there a loader on this tractor? KennyV

Yes the tractors has a loader .I used a threaded pipe to blow into the filter it had no restriction. When I put the 41.2 quarts of oil in the red cap does this fill the transmission also? Does the pump have to be primed? Is there a pressure relief value on the pump or any where else on the hydraulics? This L3300 GST only works 1to 3 minutes then all hydraulics, steering ,3point hitch and loader stops working .let it sit 1to3 minutes it will work.

That tractor has a 7 gal per min pump... if there is not enough oil in the transmission it will starve the pump. This is going to destroy your pump & also the transmission as it also uses hydraulic oil pressure to activate the wet clutches.
Drain what ever is in the trans (multiple drain plugs) and then start filling, Watch the sight gauge, when it is at the mid point (likely around 10 gallons), you are full.
All hydraulic systems have relief valves... The main pump has one And the loader has a separate one in it's control valve...
How many hours are on the filter? If you don't know REPLACE it... if you are placing air pressure into the threaded port on the filter you are pushing in the Opposite direction of flow, also OIL is thicker than Water, if you do not Know the history of the oil & the filter REPLACE them. Your hydro pump & hydrostatic steering is Very expensive to replace, Plus any transmission damage is going to require a LOT of labor hours to repair... The pump has a flooded intake if there is sufficient oil in the transmission it will be primed.

My girl friend is half Porta Rican and half Nicaraguan .she keeps my lips oily.

Is that oily or greasy? The Puerto rican part would be lard and the Nicaraguan half would be crude oil. Don't let that on your lips. Could be toxic. However, if it gets on any mechanical parts it could be the right viscosity to help lubricate against friction and chafing of important parts.

Thanks Kenny V for the help I worked my L3300 for 2hours and everything hydraulic worked fine. I still a few more questions. Does my L3300 GST have a standard clutch in front of the transmission . When I bought it in 2005 the PTO would slip when I tried to bush hog tall weeds and if I tried to pull a fully loaded box blade above third gear the tractor would stop.

Interesting. I also have a GST. I was bush hogging for the first time with my tractor yesterday for a couple of hrs. When I was done I noticed that the differential case was hot enough that I couldn't hold my hand on it. It was 85 deg. outside.
I don't know if this is normal or not.
I believe the PTO is hyd., so if you had something stopping up your hyd. system maybe that would explain the slipping PTO. The wet clutch inside the trans. is also Hyd. operated.

Yes there is a dry clutch in Front of the trans... I have disconnected the linkage to my "dry clutch"... I have a cab on my L4200 GST... The clutch pedal is just in the way, I never use it, so with the linkage off I can lock it to the floor out of the way. The dry clutch will wear a little Every time you use it & will eventually need to be adjusted. The wet clutches are always submerged in oil, less heating & wear....
If your Dry clutch is slipping Check the adjustment for the proper free play.
The temperature of the trans will be about 100 degrees above ambient, so at 85 air temp your fluid will be around 185 degrees... too hot to touch. That is normal and will not cause any slippage ...
My L4200 GST has an independent PTO it is Not driven with the dry clutch, has it's own wet pack clutch, if the pto clutch pack is slipping check the engagement cable, see that it is allowing the clutch valve full operation. KennyV

Thanks for the info. Kenny. Sorry if I hijacked the thread ihateu2. Please, don't hate me.:ashamed:

I haven't adjusted to the idea of not using the clutch yet.
If digging into a pile of dirt, when you want to stop pushing, you can just shuttle into neutral? No dry clutch needed to unload the trans.?
As far as my PTO goes, it's electric control. I presume that a solenoid opens a hyd. valve operating another wet clutch and releases a brake at the same time. Correct?

Thanks much, Bill
