So you have a paid subscription to a website, you deny pop up ads (PUA) in your browser settings, you log in and can't read the page because of a PUA, you scroll past it and it follows you down so you still can't read anything. Then you hit the close button and nothing happens. Several times even, unless you get a little sloppy with one of the clicks and miss it by 1/64 th of an inch, which transfers you to their site. Then you close that site to return to your subscription site, only to find the same PUA. Or maybe you hit it right and it stays on the screen for another 5 seconds or so, just to make sure you get an eyeful.

Aren't there any real marketing people at that company who would say, "Hey, website designers, no one will buy our stuff if we make pests of ourselves. It's harassment. In fact, they will make it a point to not buy from us even if they need it." Maybe Darwinism is as slow on the net as it is in nature.

Thanks for the opportunity to vent.

Send me the website address and I will send you an adblock plus filter to block the ad.

May be their strategy is to deviate the attention from main site to their ad.

I use ABP in Firefox but some sites are grayed out because the ad didn't come up. Very annoying and nothing I know of to get around it. I have to use IE without blocking if I really want to see and then I have to deal with the ads. I don't see it getting any better but you'd think a paid subscription would not do this.
