Canopy for L3400

The problem I had with the Tuff Top is mine eventually got a split at the leading edge crease on each side. This then became a magnet that grabbed every twig that brushed the canopy. Eventually grabbing bigger and stouter twigs.

My metal canopy has a few dents, but I'm sure those dents would have been something bigger if I still had a Tuff Top or a fiberglass top. I can always hammer out a dent on a metal top.

I've written many reviews (probably not 400) on Amazon and buy stuff via them ... crazy often. I have never had a review rejected or even questioned.
Like a lot of rural people, we find buying from Amazon more convenient than a trip to town. So we order often and fill out reviews. Some of what they sell is good, some is junk, and some just doesn't seem to match what the description promises. We are brutal with reviews.

I've never had one come back from Amazon, or even heard from them at all.
I have had reviews questioned from by Ebay.

I’m ready to get a canopy for my L3400. Any pros or cons as to what’s available?
Deere makes a nice umbrella for keeping the weather off your head. But they are for open field work like is so common in Texas to N. Dak. Absolutely useless against tree limbs.

If that is all that is needed, those are universal mount, and I don't think they've changed the design in decades. They look the same as they did when I was a kid. Inexpensive, too.

I made a cover from a sheet of stout aluminum about 48x60, and welded some 2x2 steel supports to the rops. Works great. Will last a lifetime.

I ordered a brand new dumpster lid, and fabricated the mount out of black pvc pipes

Reading these posts has me re-thinking this. There is someone on FB Marketplace selling golf cart lids for $20, which I was considering, and making the frame...

My buddy used an Ezgo golf cart lid on his smaller Iseki tractor. Looks good and works fine.

Well, I wanted one that was pre made that I could fold back or easily remove if I needed it off so the Tuff-Top for me worked out just fine. Besides, it mounts 100% to the ROPS which I never fold down anyway. It's there for a reason and it's always in the extended position. I do get somewhat of a charge seeing them folded down all the time. Why not just remove it entirely and be done with it as they do bolt on. Of course mine stay in the barn and not in my garage anyway, won't fit in the garage anyway, tractors are too big, folded or not. I will never be a suburban tractor owner.

Now that is clever ! I think the dumpster lid is just a little smaller both length and width than ideal but still that is a great idea. Wonder if larger dumpster lids are readily available?
