Canopy Canopy fiberglass or metal?

As you can see from my pic to the left, mine is fiberglass (re-used golf cart top).
But since you said you're in the woods, I'd go for metal for the added protection. It will be hotter than fiberglass, but sounds like you're more concerned about falling limbs than heat. Paint the top of it white to reflect a lot of the sun if you're concerned about the heat. And maybe mount a 12v fan to it, to cool you off and to keep the bugs away.

Edit: I read past your post that you bought one. Keeping my post here in case anyone else finds the link helpful.

I have a metal one that has held up well with all of our trees around here. I do my best to trim lower limbs for clearance, but some larger trees have limbs higher up that hang down -- the canopy does an effective job of pushing them out of the way without bending or breaking.

It's heavy and I had to get help to mount it but my hope is it will offer some protection against falling limbs.

FWIW, I bought the same one as op and drumminj and am pleased with it. It was pretty heavy and I needed to get a friend to help me get it mounted. It does a good job of keeping the Texas sun off of me.
