Help guys. My 3010 is about 2 years old with 67 hours on it. It will shift into high and medium with no real problems. It just will not go into low. I have tried going back and forth in high and low, shifted in and out of 4wd, put it in neutral and worked the forward and reverse. Read the manual and tried their remedy. I also looked at the linkage however nothing seems bound up it all appears loose. It seems like it is hitting a brick wall when you try to shift it into low. Any Ideas????

I recall reading a post about this awhile back, try searching the old posts. Seems to me it was something bent or needed lube once he opened it up.

My 3010 gave me a hard time putting her in low one time. I had been bush hoggin and thought I bent the linkage or something. I checked and couldn't see any visible signs of anything bent or in a bind. Fast forward to the next time I was on the tractor, I tried and was able to put it in low. I did have let off the brake so it would roll a little bit to work it into gear. Now whenever I'm switching gears, if it does not go in easy, I let it roll a little and it clicks right in. So, to summarize, yea, I have experienced the symptom, but it went away. Never had a problem with it again, and now I have 225 hours on her. I had forgotten about the issue until I saw this post. Please, let us know whatever your solution is to this one.
Thanks,

I have he same problem all the time with my L3010. It's in the linkage. Don't force it. I pressure washed all the crud out of it then lube it and that usually takes care of it.
Also make sue you change your engine speed-like a clutch, that some times helps.

I have always hated it when someone asks a question then does not post the resolution to the problem, so here goes. I found out the tractor was still under warrenty so decided to let the dealer fix it. He came out looked at it wiggled the shifer a little then got a can of WD40 a hammer and punch and lubed it up and smacked the linkage from underneath the fender with a long punch. I asked him how he knew it was just stuck as opposed something major (this is per the manual do not force the shifer) he said he hits it because if its something else then its only an extra 10 buck part when he tears it apart for a major repair. I should also note that he only hit it one time and it loosened up. Thanks for the help guys hope this helps someone in the future.
