Canned Spray Foam/ Brake Clean

I found out today that brake cleaner works to clean spray foam cans before it hardens, so you can reuse the can later.

Great tip! Always hated to "waste" a whole can when all you needed was a small project.
So do you spray the brake cleaner thru the nozzle to clear it? What about the part of the can the nozzle threads onto?

Brake cleaner (chloronated or non) is the best wasp, hornet and yellow jacket killer ever made. I use it all the time to eliminate those pests. Wipes out a nest instantly.

Great to know ..

Most brake clean has some amount of acetone in it.. which is the main dissolving agent for spray foam cleaner.
You can also purchase pressurized cans of acetone just for cleaning up after spray foam.

Here is a neat trick, take the paper off of an old filtered cigarette butt and place it in the palm of someone else's hand. Add about a tablespoon of acetone quickly for a gross surprise.

I sprayed down into it to clean it too.
