Mike, I am keeping you in my prayers. The road to recovery is now only has a few small hills compared to the mountain you have just climbed.

Sounds like you had a few rough days but now that your blood work looked great, is such great news. Glad you are finding bits of energy. Still praying for you...Keep on posting when you can.

Read the hole thread and I'm glade your going to beat this thing. It will get better. Been there done it twice. Fifteen years ago it was malignant melanoma, removal of 5 inches of skin on my arm during surgery and a year of interferon injections (that sucked). Couple years ago it was prostrate cancer. Had a robotic radical prostatectomy. First few weeks of recovery really sucked but the surgeon did a great job and my life is back to normal with no complications and cancer free.

It's always great to hear from someone who's been there to offer up encouragement.

Thanks for the concern ....this tumor is taking it's own sweet time. Went to md anderson last week for 3 days of exams and Dr visits and the conclusion was " come back in 3 months". I thought I was going to get scheduled for surgery to remove the remnants of the tumor that they shot full of radiation and chemo ....but seems although it has shrunk....it is continuing to shrink and they want to give it time to shrink on it's own down to as small as it will go before they finally cut out what's left. So-o-o....we wait again. Also my mouth is still swollen more than they had hoped and they want to give it some more healing time. They were initially surprised that I wasn't eating more solid foods yet -- until they looked in my mouth, then it was "well...no wonder".....so we're back home on "recovery time" until November 14.

Mike,
Thanks for the update. So sorry to hear it is dragging out longer. Still in my prayers.
hugs, Brandi

mikim; Prayers for you here too. Glad it is still shrinking. Might take a little longer, but the smaller it gets, the better. Hang in there!

/ cancer head #177
That's good news it's still shrinking Mike. Hope your recovery time goes well.

Well, I know it's bad news about the mouth and the fact that it hasn't shrunk enough yet to remove the remnants, but at least it's good news that it's still shrinking. We'll still be praying for better times ahead for you.
