CAN WE USE PELLETS TO BURNING THE ENGINE?

I was at the gas station a few years ago, and there was a pickup truck that was converted to burn wood and gasoline. Very professional build. The driver said he mostly burned wood for propulsion and the gasoline was for fall back. Not sure how it worked, but he said, he could start out with gasoline, and move over to wood gas, on the fly. The wood stuff, probably took up 1/3 of the bed.

Most all of the gasifiers I have seen use small chunks of wood, not sawdust, big pieces, or pellets. This guy is showing how he starts his gasifier and then his truck. Notice how clean the smoke gets when he hold a cigarette lighter to the gas. Interesting stuff......search "woodgas truck" to see more.

It is interesting that you burn a mixture of wood pellets and rubber pellets. I have not tried that!

I have always mixed corn with wood pellets at a mixture of 33% corn to 66% wood just because corn burns so darn hot so I have to cut back on the ratio.

I am going to try burning sunflower seeds this year though, as it would be a lot easier growing something that is sizable to my pellet stove rather then try and make pellets from wood. We grow sunflowers really well here so it is worth trying.
