On May of 2011 I started a thread in the Yanmar forums titled (Forum for Yanmar air-cooled diesels & clones) that got lost after the website reorganization.
Since then I have had several projects that I would like to share.
Would it be possible to create a separate Forum for (Air-cooled Diesels) so we would have a place to show and discuss our projects?
It was quite popular in the past and if it was non specific for all makes of Air-cooled Diesels I'm surer it would be a winner!
I have not found any forum since that has had the information or interest that we had here.
Anyone that agrees please show your support.

Thanks 90cummins

I'd be interested in that. Don't know if I could contribute anything but I would enjoy reading.

Agree! Those discussions were interesting and I would like to see them resume.

I'd support it as an owner of a single air cooled diesel(generator). But like pmsmechanic dont know how much i'd be able to contribute.... I rarely run the generator ( i cycle it monthly...err sometimes), and maintenance is mostly prayers that it starts when I need it to, and filter and fluid changes when required.

Not a Yanmar owner owner but I do have a Ditch Witch with a Deutz 3cyl 45+/- HP air cooled engine...have had it several years and the only issue I've had is with fuel return lines...anyone have a good online source? None of the auto parts stores etc. carry it...

Any small engine/mower shop should have it or McMaster-Carr online.

Thanks...will check the latter online...It has not been that big of an issue but I would like to replace the entire return system...
The only place within a 50+ mile round trip is a small engine repair / equipment rental co...and what I could get them to sell me (enough to get by) was $6 a foot...it was not a retail item...they sold it to me out of their equipment repair inventory...

It's about 3/16" low pressure (no clamps requires) barb type connection hose...fiber shielded for heat/durability...but they (at least the OEM hoses) tend to degrade where they have been expanded over the barbs of 'T's' etc...

I have a Yanmar 6 HP air cooled diesel generator. The best air cooled engine I own.

I have a 7 hp Lister two cylinder air cooled. I want to run my generator with it but haven't got around to it yet. My buddy picked it up for me at an auction. $250.
