If I buy more tractor, I'd still like to pull it into my barn that has a standard height garage door. My current tractor fits by folding down the ROPS and I had to shorten the exhaust pipe by about 6 inches.

The new guys have those fat, combo pipes. Can they be shortened?

Just about anything is possible. Seems kind of odd to me that they had the foresight to make the ROPS fold but didn't take into consideration that the stack was taller than the folded ROPS!

Why don't you see if they have a side down low exhaust option.

You could get a side pipe that direct it down to the ground. The exhaust particular is heavy and will settle downward. I wouldn’t just shorten the stack, because you will be breathing more of the exhaust, which will have negative health effects. The height of the exhaust is for the purpose of getting good dispersion above the operator’s head.

I have a M7060 ordered and there was an option for the exhaust that put it under the tractor If I remember correctly. Wasn't interested so didn't pay much attention to it.

Lowering mine 6-inches was perfect, fits like a glove into the garage and the exhaust goes nowhere near my face.

There is an option for low mount exhaust, but I wouldn't necessarily be buying new... and since I spend some time swapping implements, I thought that might be worse for putting exhaust in my face back there. Also, when I'm working in heavy scrub I'd be concerned with getting it tweaked by something. I guess I might be just as vulnerable tweaking my high pipe on overhead limbs too.

Thanks for the ideas.

No negative health effects with Tier IV. The exhaust is cleaner than the air the engine sucks in. That was the whole point in having the EPA foist this stuff upon the American citizens in the first place.

First thing I did when I bought my tractor was to take a saws-all to it. Cut about 8” off including the curve and put a flapper on it so I could get it under the door I was using at the time.

I can't believe anyone really believes that.

I didn’t realize it was a tier iv, but regardless, the high nitrogen in the exhaust from a tier iv can cause the operator to loose consciousness. Albeit, that would be unlikely. In addition to that, when it’s performing a regen, you do not want to be breathing that exhaust, because its ten times worse than normal untreated diesel exhaust.
