Hi Can someone with a Yanmar YM1500 email me pictures of everything under the seat
hydraulic control , transmission ect
on mine these are small black rubber hoses (looks like vacuum line) one on each side of the case vents
one on the right side is going from the cae vent up to the hydraulic control valves vent ( im asuliming this is a vent.
on the left side the rubber house is hooked to the case vent and the other end is hanging down not connected to anything but someone put a stick in the end plugging it .
i assume this hooks to something and it not suppose to be plugged
with this being plugged off cause problems as im have trouble with my lift being weak ?

any help and pictures would be apreciated
please email them to wireman1957@bellsouth.net

those are vents. connected to a little j shaped metal pipe coming out of the houseing. there not suppose to be blocked but if they are thats not your lack of power.

I would suspect either the valve or the big oring on the piston. I have a post here from a year or two ago that shows the teardown and where they go. i bet this is your problem. I have a VERY MINOR issue with leak down...not really an issue, turns out its the worn valve but a new 3 point o ring helped it a good bit.

I will try and find the post unless someone beats me too it. I am on the way out the door home now or else i would look but just search my name and posts created by me. Its titled something like ym2000 hydraulics rebuild. its very similar im sure to your 1500

Those little vent tubes are designed for running half-submerged, like in this promotional photo from Yanmar's International page.

yea i figured that was the case
i rehooked the hoses and my lift works better
the previous owner had the right side of the vent hose plugged with a stick and the left side he had it hooked to the lift control valve vent
kinda strange but my lift does seem faster and smoother now
