Hi All,

I am trying to disconnect my yoke, to replace the u joint, from the forward facing PTO that connects to my cutting deck.

I have not been able to disconnect, even though it is loose, please see the photo attached, I am wondering if the ring (which is hollow) would go all the way through the PTO. I have tried removing it but can not budge it - to me, it does not look like it is connected to the yoke.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Will

You have to push that roll pin out with a punch and a hammer. Then the yoke will slide right out. The roll pin should go all the way through the other side.

Here is how it looks:

A lot of times the roll pin end is expanded. They are real hard steel. Best way is to make sure the off-center hole goes all the way thru, then grind the roll pin down flush with the yoke and use a roll pin punch for sure. If you do not, and then you booger it again as it is being forced past the the groove in the PTO shaft (top of picture below) it is a huge project to get it out.
