My CK30 is parked under a shed but it gets a lot of dampness underneath on the ground. By leaving the finish mower locked in raised position it keeps it out of moisture. Any likely damage to tractor mechanism doing this?

I’m looking forward to the coming responses!

It will probably leak down and drop over time. Better to put blocks under the edges of the mower deck to hold it up off the ground.

It won't hurt the tractor though, as a later post said.

It will slowly slowly leak down. I believe for the loader hydraulics Kioti says something like an inch an hour of sag is “normal”. Mine is nowhere near that bad and I have also kept the rear finish mower raised for several days with no sag but I would expect it to occur so place blocks under it.

others told you other things but didn't answer your question. NO IT WILL NOT HURT ANYTHING

I would simply block it up. However - it WILL NOT necessarily leak down. I have my 1100 pound Rhino 950 rear blade on the 3-point. It will remain in the full raised position for at least 45 days without dropping a measurable amount. Beyond 45 days - no empirical data on that length of time.

But - NO it will not hurt anything to leave it in a raised position.

Thanks folks. I left it raised throughout the spring/summer months, sometimes for several weeks and it didn't sag. Will see how it does long term. I don't have anything handy to prop it up with.

Edited: I close the valve under the seat that hold it up. Forgot to mention that. Sorry.

I would think you could just shut the 3 point speed valve and it would not leak down . Happens enough to people by mistake .

I often leave my 3 point raised with the 1200+lbs balast block on it and have never had it leak down.

Don't do it with a hydraulic toplink. That will leak down and jam the deck into the PTO shaft.

Translation: "Not normal, but we won't do warrantee work on leaks less than that."

Just came across this old thread of mine from 6 years ago. Thought for grins I'd post that I've been locking the mower in up position for all these years and it does not (yet) leak down, even over several months during winter.
