Can I get a bigger mower deck from my L118

I have a JD L118 riding mower with a 42" mower deck that I bought used last year. It's a really great machine but its not quite big enough to mow my 1 acre lawn fast enough for my liking. Is it possible to fit a 48" or 54" mower deck on there if I could find one? Seems like it might be a cheaper route to extending my mowing width than buying a whole new mower. Anyone tried this?

Interesting question, i have wondered it myself on my L118. The L120 and L130 both had I think 48" decks and are the exact same thing except they have bigger tires and i think the L130 has a different tranny. So I cant see why not unless they have different linkage. I got my L118 because the original owner had the same dilemma but decided to upgrade to a whole new mower instead.

Looking for the same answer...

I measured the one with a 54" deck.
16" apart just like the L118.

The new deck has the idler pulley angled also.
To keep the belt on.

In principal yes, but.... The hanging brackets are the same on the l120 and l130. The 54" will not fit. The 48" deck has an electric pto so you would also need to get a pto, wiring, switch etc etc since it is not set up for manual engagement.
