Can CUT pull harrow and manure spreader

Had the local pasture management guy over and got some recommendations on improving quality of our horse pasture. Two things he recommended I've never done. First I need to pull a disk harrow and/or a chain harrow. Second, need to pull a small manure spreader. Has anyone pulled these kinds of implements with something as small as a 7500 class machine? Manure spreaders can be either ground driven or PTO driven. I'm wondering how heavy a machine you need to get enough traction to pull these things.

I mow the 6 acres pulling a 60" swisher behind my Sears garden tractor and that works great, although it's a little hard on the kidneys unless I go slow. The JD I have (which actually belongs to a contractor who keeps it here) is way bigger than I need for almost everything, although it's nice having a big FEL when I need it. I don't have a finishing mower for it, just a bush hog which I don't really need. So I'm still trying to figure out what sized Kubota to buy.

I don't know much about the 7500 Series except that it is bigger than my BX2200 and my BX has been able to do more than I ever expected. I know they make a disc or chain harrow sized for any tractor these days. My BX has been like riding a Cadillac compare to my old craftman. Good luck.

Depends on the size of the harrow and spreader. My 2410 and BX both easily pully a chain harrow. Mine is the Furest harrow, 6feet by 8 feet I think. I borrow from time to time a neighbors small manure spreade --he has horses---and spread the manure but first I pull it about a mile here and then after back--works fine. J

My B7500 HST pulls a ground-driven Millcreek Model 25 compact manure spreader, with no problem. I actually used to pull the spreader with a Toro 520-H garden tractor. The B7500 will actually drag the spreader without the spreader's wheels rolling, if the manure freezes and stalls the apron chain. The B7500 also pulls a 4' wide by 8' long Fuerst flexible tine harrow, again with no problem. The last time that I mowed the pasture, I cut with the mid-mount mower, and at the same time pulled the harrow to break up manure piles.

Thanks, sounds like no problem for a 7500. I've seen disk harrows work, but never a chain harrow. I have seen chains dragged to disperse manure piles, but they didn't have tines. The ones I looked at online have tines that angle forward and sort of dig into the soil. I would think that without a large amount of weight on it, this thing would just dig itself into the ground and then break free, hopping along as you pull it. What keeps this thing down in the soil?

The tines are not angled forward. They drag just fine. A chain harrow is not going to do the same job that a disc might be able to if cutting deep into the ground is what you want to do. Spreading manure and such they do very nicely. J

We pull a Millcreek 25 with the Wheel Horse 12hp every day. I've still got the chains on it because the tires are so old and hard they would just spin in the wet, but it pulls it fine. With a B7500 you should have no problems. I haven't tried a harrow yet.

It may all depend on the type/size of harrow, the field conditions and the size of the spreader.

With diamond harrows and well cultivated soil a B7500 may be challenged.
