Possibly if it's in smooth working condition. Haggle him down $100-300 & it would be a pretty good deal. Rust is ugly, but not super relevant to performance as long as there are no holes or rust on important lubed bearing & gear surfaces.

I got a video of it running. Needs at least one bearing. Since he doesn't know what brand or anything about it ill use that to my advantage when haggling.

Rotor straight, hood straight (doesn't matter if it's beatup) & gearbox smooth are the critical parts. Beyond that it's mostly a matter of how much time are you willing to spend replacing bearings & other relatively cheap & common parts.

Well I picked it up for $500. I could turn it over by hand despite the obviously bad cutter roller bearing. Got it home and checked it out. Gearbox full of water and bearings inside pitted. Gears look fine thankfully. So now I need to find a parts diagram I guess.

There is a local bearing shop that carries a huge inventory of bearings. Are these bearings anything special or could I possibly get them in this shop?

Should be easy to get bearings and seals at a local shop, nothing special.

3 of the bearings are not standard. For sure. I found 1 on ebay for dirt cheap, but still trying to find the others. Flailmaster wants $150 a piece and it comes in a new housing. I dont know why they don't have them separately. Its listed as 2 different part numbers.

The gearbox bearings look like they could be standard so I'm going to pull them off and take them to Memphis Bearing supply. They appear to be 2 of each size but the diagrams show 4 different numbers.

I'm going to have at least 8-900 after replacing all bearings and knives.
