No expert on antique tractors, but, that looks like someone has done some "after market modifications". The channel on the frame looks pretty new while the rest of it looks pretty weathered. The look of the aged wheels just do not seem to match in the second picture. Did think the level steering shaft was pretty common on the old Farm Alls??. Will defer to someone who really knows this and provides comments.

It looks like a 1930's Farmall F20 or F30 to me. The front end and the steering give it away. I'm no Farmall expert but I have seen those wheels on alot of the old 30's vintage Farmall's so they are probably correct.

Looks like it needs some sheet metal work, a tank, remove the contraption off the front end, a little TLC and you will be in business. :)

Here's a picture of a 1937 Farmall F20

This may sound crazy, but I think someone tried to put a snow plow on that old tractor. The front of that added frame looks like it would hold a snow plow for a pickup truck.

I think it is an F12, the extra frame on the front looks to have been added for maybe blade or possibly a corn picker?? farmers used to add what they needed to do a job.

You may be correct. It does look more like a F12. I found this picture of one and the engine seems to be closer in size to the one you have. Like I said, I'm not a Farmall expert. I just know what they look like, not all the specefic's about models. :)

One of the pics of it shows a tire chain on the left tire.

Years ago farmers rigged up a semi-retired F-20 with a saw up front for cutting firewood - belt powered off the tractor's pulley. Maybe that odd front framing is the remains of such an enterprise.
It is an F-20 or F-30. Engine, tranny, rear drive are wrong for the F-12/F-14. F-12/14 had straight axles with inside bull gears like C, H, & M. The pics show drop axles & outside bull gears.

I have checked with the ownwer, the frame in front was added for a snow plow back in the sixties/seventies.

I'd go with an F-20 as the 12 was a lighter chassis. No tag for model and serial number?

I was a little more focused on running the operational equipment and didn't take a close enough look, any idea on the general location?
I will take a look next time I am by it.

P.S. I won't let your "grandchild" pick up any bad habits from the farmall. It won't be stayingout all night like that old fellow.

My Dad had a fleet of old Farmalls but I never learned to identify them. The F12, F14, and Regulars were smaller than the F20 and the F30. Talked to my brother tonight and he said that the Regulars had an open gearbox up top for the steering. He still has Dad's old F20 and his son is going to restore it. I think the exhaust manifold is cracked and the motor is being unstuck at this time.

I'm no expert but I sure like Farmalls. I concur it is an F-20.
