Can anyone help me find info on this??

Hi,

I just got this mower and am trying to find info on it. There is a name plate on it that says Heilman Enterprises, Mishawaka, Indiana, but the serial number is unreadable. Heilman Enterprises was in business from 1971 to 1989 but can't find much else about this.

Anyone seen this brand before or know anything about it. I have posted on a few antique tractor sites with no luck so far.

I can't tell you much about the Lawn Rov'r name other than it comes up on a few parts sites via google.

It looks a lot like an old style MTD. I'd bet you the engine is a Briggs and Stratton. If it is you can find any info you'd need about the engine on the Briggs and Stratton website.

What kind of information are you looking for?

You can find the year of the engine by looking up the model number. You'll find a parts manual for the engine the same way. If it's the original engine, the year of the machine should be the same as the engine. As for the body, etc. I can't help you much.

That's a lonely feeling. I've been there where a search brings me back to my own postings. The moment of glory that something I wrote turned up in a search is quickly displaced by the realization that there's no other information easily available.

So tell us more about your find. Does it run? Does it Mow?

It runs barely. I could have got it for $50 but the guy got it to start so I ended up giving him $100. He did say he had used it a few months ago to cut his grass but I was not able to try everything until I get it to run better. It didn't run good, so the first thing I want to do is get it running decent. Hopefully that will only take cleaning & rebuild of the carb, but i will see.

I am thinking about possibly restoring it, but that may depend on what information I can find.

I am hoping someone from Indiana might recognize the name because itr was manufactured in Mishawaka, Indiana.


I am currently building a racing lawn mower. So that will come first. Then maybe I can get started on it.

Get the model and type numbers off the engine and plug them into the Briggs and Stratton website (linked below). This will have the info you need to get it running smoothly.

I found the engine numbers and they indicate this to be a 1992 engine, the company listed on the name plate (Heilman Enterprises) was out of business in 1989. So I doubt this is an original motor.

Thanks for the advice again too bad it is a dead end again.
