Could one add an intercooler to a 3520?

Looks easy enough, but not sure about cost. Injectors have different part # and not sure about pump.

HP is made by adding a more agressive fuel map. The intercooler is used to help keep the EGTs managable from the extra fuel.
If it were an electronic download, I'm sure it would be as simple as adding the intercooler and reprogramming the ECM. But my guess is that Deere uses a mechanical system, thus a new 3720 pump would also be needed.

Spend the extra 2K up front. Simple as that.
If you already own a 3520, just be happy with that.
Besides the fact that a 3520 will still be a 3520 at trade in time, your warranty may also be void if you tamper with the fuel system.

You are right George.
When I posted this I was having a dumb moment (moment?!!)
I was thinking the intercooler gave all the increase. While an intercooler alone would give a small increasde in performance; it is really there to keep the whole system in balance with an increase in fuel delivery.
But still, years down the road it might make sense to make a 3520 int a 3720....

I agree. If the 3520 pump went bad, making a 3720 would be the thing to do..

Pure mechanical system. Pumps can often be physically identical with different settings and part numbers between models. Injectors can affect fuel delivery and be a simple way of getting more power out of same pump config.
