I bought an MX for my 72” bushhog, but there’s a lot of subcompact tractor owners out there. And they would work fine for cutting field grass with a 4’ cutter. Also a small B series or equivalent.

If it hasn’t sold in 6 months the obvious thing to do is drop the price.

Rotaries are getting replaced by flail mowers these days. Most people that buy tractors these days are cutting very light stuff and don't need the ability of a bush hog. 48" is pretty small. You couldn't give a 48" bush hog away around here. It might bring a couple hundred on our equipment sales.

No doubt that someone may find it useful, but under 5' wide is of little interest. That width won't be as wide as a lot of tractors.

Honestly, as a Buyer, I don't care if it still has the manual zip tied to the PTO shaft, that has never been hooked up, if it's more than 50% of the new price, I'm not even going to consider making an offer. If I'm going to pay new price, then I'll buy new, if I'm buying used, I'm looking for a hefty discount, and personally, I like to hover near scrap price. That's not good news for you, but just trying to give you a buyers perspective.

Yep. Used equipment in real good conditions might get you as high as 60% of new, but if it shows wear, it should be under 50% of new cost. Buyer takes all the risk.

So, I don't see a make or model of your bushhog, But, if it's a really nice, premium, heavier duty than average, say, with a slip clutch instead of sheer bolts, and virtually new, you Might just match the cheapest new import or box store bushhog's price?
Case in point, if there is a light duty Countyline 48" for $975, and yours is a top of the line, medium duty, whatever brand from Kubota, your likely not going to be able to ask more than $975.
Advertising that you can load, or deliver in a 50 mile radius (with 50% prepayment), might also help move it
