I have a small camping trailer that I park at the farm. a] I leave it there for storage; and, b] I use it as a guest house for me when kids' families and friends (and dogs) are at the cabin. Someone is at the farm about half the time but no one is there a good bit of the time. I had a utility trailer stolen a couple years ago so I'm more cautious now. So the question is:
1] Do I put it in a lower field well off the road and behind a big strip of brush and trees where it won't be seen; or
2] Do I park it in a field visible from the road.
In the first case, I figure that if its not seen, no one will mess with it. But hunters and fisherman so walk the edge of the lower field so its not totally a secret. And if someone wants to mess with it or steal it they could work at it for a long time without detection.
In the second case, I figure if anyone does want to steal it or mess with it a passing driver would see them, which could be a deterrent. People in the valley know us and kind of keep an eye on the place (and everyone's place) when we're not around.
So what do you think?
