Well since you only did one I'm not surprised your success rate was 0. . Everyone I've ever talked to says a 60% is about tops on synchronization. Heat detect is like 40%. Although natural service isn't 100% either.
I had a cow years ago, for ten years she took with AI, never missed one time. Difference was I always had a calf in with her so it was easy to tell when she came in. And the guy doing it had 30 to 40 years experience. (he died) The guy I used this time is brand new to AI and very young.
Once this calf is born I hope the rest will be easier. If not there is always the big bull next door.
I work with a guy who raises bulls and the semen we used was selected for a low BW calf.
