1600 WAM TURBO wide area mower
My JD1600 Turbo wide area mower starts, runs 2 seconds, then quits. Thought it was a fuel problem, replaced fuel pump and fuel filter... to no avail. Figured if it were an electric safety switch problem it wouldn't even start... unless its reaction is delayed until started and then the switch engages to shut it down... but the pump has enough pressure built to supply enough fuel for the next start before the switch kills it again? Or is it isolated to a fuel supply problem? Any ideas what to check next? Thanks.

I found the problem finally. There is no screen/filter on the end of the pipe/suction tube in the fuel tank... and a bug got into the fuel and then sucked into the tube and was restricting the flow. Blew on it and thought more air should come through, so we blew it out with an air gun... and out came the shell of the bug.

To TBN Calico. Nice work, a lot of people never would have even tried that.
