Cab heater on L5240gst

I have a new L5240 tractor with no cab. I plan on putting a curtis cab on next year. I have been snowblowing for a couple years with no cab. I would like to plum a 33000 btu heater and set it on the hood right in front of the steering wheel. Is this enough heat to make a difference? it seems to me it's better than nothing and would keep your hands and face warm. are there ports on the engine or do I tap into upper/lower heater hose???

Right from Curtis they offer a heater that is a single unit about the size that your talking about and I know that theirs works! It is normally mounted by the left hand door on the front of the cab.

It comes with the switch as well as the plumbing needed for installation.

Do you mean like a small salamander heater? If so, I don't think it would be good to breath those exhaust gasses. You can get electric gloves and socks, as an alternative.

I think that heater will crank! I had a 15,000 btu curtis heater in a curtis cab on my B7500. If i ran it on high snowblowing, i would work in a tee shirt in deep cold new england weather.

There heater hooks up to the engine and is coolant heat!

The 33000 btu is about $250. I think the one curtis offers is only half the btu, that's fine with the cab, but with open station I need as much heat as possible.

If you run that large of a heater outside without a cab, you will need full fan and flow to feel much heat. That can cause the engine to run cold. May not depending on the engine size and cooling system setup. You may need to cover the front of the radiator so that the engine will run hotter and give you additional comfort. Something to think about.
