This is my first time buying a tractor and I am leaning towards the 4500. I just bought 15.5 acres and will be needing a dependable tractor. I would like some feed back on whether or not these are fair prices. Also...does anyone know how durable Howse Implements are?

I have been looking at that exact deal, and I must say those are excellent prices. Who quoted you on those? I am leaning towards the 4500 2wd w/FEL. I have an IH3444 which I'm going to keep, but wanted another 40hp tractor. I would like 4wd, but It's not necessary. You need to look at the FELs lift capacity, and breakout force between the 2wd and the 4wd. 4500. I went and saw the 4500 4wd, it's a bit of a beast. I like the large front drive tires.

Homestead, Billstractor.com has an excellent used Mahindra with FEL. I beleive it's a 4505, or something like that. He wants $9.5K, which is an extremely good buy. Check out his web page. I would be buying it, but my transportation expense for a 3200mile round trip is a deal killer. It's a 2wd tractor, but very low hours, and perfect for you. Your'll much closer, and maybe Bill would help with delivery. he's a great person to deal with. Later, IH3444
