Tractor
Looking to buy one
I was curious anyone out there bypass their neutral safety switch or park break safety switch? I am getting irritated by the safety switches on my tractor. I cant even stand up on the platform to hook up the bucket or see where the bucket is at or what it is doing, diggin into the ground etc.

I believe what you want to disable is the seat safety switch. I would leave the neutral sensing switch alone and the parking brake switch also lights your parking brake light. It just bypasses the seat switch. I would not bypass it because you will have the parking brake light illuminated all the time if you do that. You can bypass the seat switch with a jumper, but I'm pretty sure the circuit may have changed in the "DA" models from the "D" models like mine. On my tractor, all I had to do was remove the plug on the seat switch and jumper from one terminal to the other. Like you, I like to stand up for certain applications. Most of the time, I operate with my seatbelt on and stay seated, but there are times I like to stand up at least partially. With the seat switch bypassed, I can do that easily.

On my TD45 I took the switch out of the socket that holds it then put a spring clamp on it. Neutral safety & brake switches still work.

You have to download it. Then click on it and it will open. The schematic is for a TC34DA . May or may not be the same for yours.

They do call them "SAFETIES" for a reason.
It may be a little inconvenient but consider why it was installed in the first place.
Have you heard of the Darwin Society? Want to be a member?
I would think long and hard before bypassing a SAFETY. :2cents:

I installed a switch with a red flip up safety cover on the dash to bypass the seat interlock switch. If I want to stand up I just flip the switch, otherwise all safeties are in place.

Bob in Vt How did you do that? Did you splice into the wires where did you put the switch? Any pics?

Nike I understand what safeties are, I have not heard of what Darwin Society. I know equipment can be dangerous, i had that beaten into my head from my parents since i was 10 years old it started with 3 wheelers and i was never allowed to drive a dirt bike. I am very careful with machinery etc. Sometimes safeties can go overboard and not very practical. My unit shut off at least 5 times when i was trying to line up my quick attach, i have a very long fuse, that day it was burning faster than normal. I dont want to start it up when it is in gear(it is a hydro) I just want to be able to stand up a little to see the cutting edge or to line up the center of the bucket, heck i even tried shifting to the side to look at one side of the quick attach and it shut off. I dont want to do any permant fixes or eliminate all the safeties, when my children someday operate if i still have the unit i want all the safeties to work.

6 sunset6 I downloaded the pic to my desktop, and still couldnt open it

Look up the Darwin society on the net........

Bob in VT solution is the best so far... Far better than disconnecting it as long as you remember to turn it back on when you are operating it.

The switch would be in parallel with the seat sensor. When you are sitting you would flip this switch and it would by-pass the seat sensor, allowing you to leave the seat without shutting down the machine. (some machines allow you to do this if the e-bake is on)
You should be able to buy what you need at the local auto shop or Radio shack. Disconnect the battery. install switch where convenient and run wire to either side of the seat sensor. Reconnect Battery and away you go....:D
