Anyone familiar with this part? My BX1500 came with a quick hitch and two shafts. The quick hitch has an id plate with part number bx2711 on it; can I use this set up to fit a rotary broom to the front of my tractor? The dealer told me it's for a front mount snow blower. Also, is this an expensive add on?

If it's similar to the Massey GC series front quick-hitch assembly, yes, I suspect it's expensive. On mine, it can be used for a front blower --which works great, BTW-- or a front-mount rotary broom. Either of those also require a Mid-PTO extension driveshaft about 4' long. (A mid-mount mower uses a shorter shaft.) Sounds like you have the shaft(s) too.

Yup, that's exactly what it is.....and it came with two shafts, one about three feet long and the other shorter. Thanks for the info. and the pic.

You're welcome.

One of the main drawbacks to a front-mounted snowblower vs. 3PH mount is the cost-- and a lot of that is due to the parts you already have....

The blower or broom comes with a "shoe" that slips over the tongue on the quick-hitch assembly, and makes installation or removal very simple. (Sorry, that's a large file!)
