BX2670 RPM help

Hey, just helped a friend get a new orange toy!!!. I now to work effectively you need to keep the RPM's up, but the tack has no guidelines for Red line. Was just wondering if anyone has that kinda information. It's a BX2670 with FEL, Box Blade, and the new Drive over Deck. It took us a few minutes to figure that out.

You really can't "red line" one, it won't let you. Your 540, rear and mid PTO is going to be about 200 RPMs below max throttle at "about" 3000, manual tells you exactly, but I go at 3000 and with time you will know by feel. When I run mine on the highway 1/2 mile between sections of one of our farms, I just peg the throttle.

Engine has governor that will not allow engine to over rev. I have similar engine and throttle on my GR2120. Mowing and snowblowing is done at max throttle position. Philip.

I agree, mow at full throttle, end loader work is what ever fells good.

Most of my loader and box blade work is accomplished between 2600-2900 RPM. About 3000 for mowing, depending on conditions I may go a little above or below.

The main thing is just to listen to the machine. If it sounds like it is screaming with no load on it, ease back on the throttle a bit. If you are hearing the hydro trans whine and it sounds like it's struggling, throttle up.

Thanks for all the quality answers. I have also experience the rolling after getting off the hydro petal, I like that the abrupt stops are gone, but it will take some getting use to by me, but my friend should get the hang of it easily.
