bx2660 stalls with downpressure on FEL

Hi,

Wondering if anybody has an answer on how to fix this. My bx2660 stalls when i try to drive it with downpressure on the FEL. I can put the brake on and push the bucket down all day and lift the front end up etc and it doesnt stall. As soon as i drive it forward and put even a little pressure on the bucket it stalls, moving brush even does it. It just started doing this last week while moving some rock wiht the bucket. If i hit a bump with rocks in teh bucket it would even do this. Any suggestions would be appreciated

Just a quick update. I just tried driving it around with the PTO running and it doesnt stall at all. I can also drive around while articulating the FEL up/down and the arms up and down with no stall. As soon as i put weight in the bucket and drive it will stall if i hit a bump or if i lower the bucket and go forward as soon as any pressure is felt it will stall.

I was thinking the same thing. I was wondering if the OP has the older seat but he has the 60 series so it shouldnt matter. If the OP has pto running and it works without stalling, then it gotta be one of the seat switches. I'd check both switches and make sure its working right, but using the FEL shouldnt stall engine whe moving BX. It will stall regardless if the safety switches kicks in.

To the op, I would check the functions of all safety switches.

I am almost positive its the safety switch but cant for the life of me figure out which one. As i said, i can turn the PTO on and drive around and no stalls at all even while operating the FEL. If it stalls it doesn't even try to start up until i release all pressure on the FEL by spinning the joystick. however i should be able to have as much FEL pressure as i want with me on or off the tractor.

I have read the forums here and see 5 switches, Seat Switch, Seat Turn Over Switch, PTO Switch, PTO-R Switch and HST Neutral Switch.

i dont think its PTO so im looking at seat or HST, but i have no idea why its related to FEL pressure.

My thought was maybe you are leaning out of the seat when running the FEL, but it sounds like you understand how the seat switch works, so maybe thats not the problem. You can run the FEL and not be in the seat, so I'm not sure what is going on. I know when my tractor won't start, its almost always the PTO lever that I jiggle to make it start, but with you in the seat and the tractor running, that shouldn't have anything to do with it.

My money is still on a saftey switch, but the problem doesn't sound like the normal ones.

I just got in from working with it. I checked the connectors on the safety switches and none seem loose. Im not sure exactly what else to do. I am not leaning forward in the seat, I have even tried using the bucket going up hill and it does the same thing. Like i said, when it starts to stall if i have it at high RPM and reverse or lift the bucket it keeps running, its only going forward with down pressure on the bucket, if i lift it its fine, though when i have a load of stone in the bucket and drive forward and hit a bump it also tries to stall.

When it stalls it wont restart til i remove the fel pressure, doesnt matter if im in the seat or not it starts up as soon as pressure is off.

Ive greased every fitting on the tractor, it has low hours and the warranty just expired a few months ago so im hoping to be able to handle this myself if possible.

It just started doing this last week while moving some rock wiht the bucket.

If it was working fine until a week ago, then suddenly it wasn't working fine, the chances are you did something unusual.

Are there any sensors that could have been hit or rubbed by those rocks you were moving? Did you drop a rock on any part of the tractor? Etc etc. It doesn't seem logical it is a seat switch, unless you were doing something with the seat on that day. Anything with wires or connectors?

Look for a sensor or switch triggering because something got bent or pressured that day - and reproduces now. (Some over-pressure type switch etc.). The most obvious point is - it worked fine and then "suddenly" it didn't. What was the "suddenly"?

Well, the suddenly part only refers to the bucket down pressure stalling, the tractor runs fine at all other times. For the past month I havent been doing any bucket work, only hauling a wood wagon getting the firewood taken care of.

No rocks hit it, i wasnt digging them up with the bucket, only loading them into a bucket from a stone wall demo. I was then hauling them to pile in the woods. I first noticed the stall when i put the bucket down empty to move the brush pile around it moved fine at first and then stalled. I checked the hoses going to the FEL, even took them off the quick attach and reattached, nothing seems out of whack.

The odd thing to me is that i can use the FEL while motionless fine, I can put downpressure on the bucket and lift the front tires off the ground repeatedley with no issues. If i put the bucket in the ground at all and move forward an inch it starts to stall.

Are there any other shutoffs besides safety ones that could be in play?

Did you change out the Hydro filter?? Could be partially plugged up. Just throwing it out there. Seems only when its underload and moving. Might be starving for fluid
