Every time I get on that little tractor I am just blown away with what it can do. I just got my new thumb welded on I don't know How i ever got along without it.

I'd rather see the thumb than your back.:) Get another picture or two, without you. Where did you get your thumb and how much?

Yes indeed! When I bought my BX25, I was a little worried that it was too small for my needs. After all, there are many people on this forum that warn to get a tractor larger than what you think you will need. When I decided to buy a tractor, I initially wanted at least a b2320. It turned out that the little BX25 is more tractor than I thought, by a long shot. I spend some time occasionally trying to think of how long a task I just finished would have taken without the little workhorse. I figure most of it wouldn't have even been started.

What do you use your thumb for? I use mine every once in a while to move brush and place rocks but that's about it. I'm always lacking reach or lift capacity to do anything else I want.

I use mine for logs.

I went w/ an Extreme Metal Products bolt on BH Thumb.
I was concerned over making heat effected zones and weakening
the dipper. be sure to post pics when done!

I think overall it is great. I only have a 24 and had a 22. The BH is too slow for my liking and power is lacking. Again just me. Trees longer than 8 inches take wayyyy to long. Easier to pay a friend a few greenbacks and pulls 30 inch trees in 5 to 10 minutes with a JD310G.

Also wish the FEL had a bucket like a bobcat. easy plate for removal and install. Overall happy just wish they refined it more.

This is the thumb. I got it from the dealer for 500.00 then had to have it welded on. It is great on brush rail road ties and I'm sure there will be a lot more uses. ;)

EMP or Extreme Metal Products has a unit for $389.00 or so
and it is bolt on. I really like mine. Works VERY well...

You do have to mount it w/ a good eye to be sure you get it
in that perfect spot where you will do no damage to any hydraulic
fittings et al.

Mine is just an old BX2200, but don't tell the tree! It did take most of an hour to work it loose. These little machines are amazing. My grandson is nearly 6' tall, so is the rootball.

My old BX22 I could not stand...alot of issues leaking/breaking...My Bx24 is much nicer but lacking in BH performance...

Have you verified the pressure is set A-OK?
I believe in my "BX25 Goodies" thread I give
part numbers at McMaster to make up such
a pressure gauge testor, alternately Harry at BXpanded
sells a kit w/ shims and a gauge as well I do believe.

Personally, I am the other way around, I think the BH
works well and the FEL b performance blows...

Good question. I will have to buy the tester or look for that thread, thanks. The BH digs but you have to go really slow since it just moves the machine. I tried to pull a 5 inch DIA tree last year and it was a joke. Tried to remove some lilac trees the machine was lacking, sad. I had to call my buddy that owns a quarry and he came over. Dug out 28 inch dia tree stumps in about 7 minutes each and just pushed my little one out. embarrassing

The FEL I cannot stand at idle. It is about the same as my old Bx22.. I like the 24 just lacking in some areas.

Rant issues...backing up still as poor as the 22. Seat is junk. safety switch (all removed now) are not like the Bx22 (had none). doing an oil change is a pain (not like a JD). No tilting sterring wheel is lacking. mowing deck platic pieces are poor.

But at least they fixed the hyd issues from the old days. LOL

Well...i "USED" to have issues w the BH pulling the machine around,
then I figured out how to use it. It was all operator error.
Once I figured it all out I was embarrassed
I didn't know better to begin with...

You have to;

SET THE E BRAKE HARD
SET THE FEL BUCKET DOWN IN A MANNER TO HELP HOLD YOU
SET YOUR OUTRIGGERS PROPERLY, BUY PADS IF NECESSARY

Additionally I found while I had all 4 tires on pavement, I found
that if you chock the tires w/ good rubber tire chocks it
is a whole new world...

Really it was all me...I suggest slow down, take my tips, analyze
the situation and you will be way better off...

WORKS FOR ME!
