3-Point Hitch BX25 Adding aux hydraulics

Figured Id post up my take on adding a couple auxillary hydraulic circuits to the back of my BX.

I used an existing Prince valve left over from my firewood processor. It was way overkill for the BX, with 3/4 inlet and outlet ports and 1/2 work ports. Plus it weighs a ton being cast iron. One of those euro style aluminum valves would suffice, but I had it on the shelf.

There really isnt much to the install, just splice the new valve into the hydraulics for the backhoe. 6 female Prince 60 series couplers and one male nipple is all thats required. Then there are the necessary adapters and fittings to make it work.

Cost was about $300, but I had the valve.

With the QCs and hose wrap installed. FYI Hose to the valve is 3/8, lenghts of 12", 30" and 36" I believe. I dont like how those 90's are hanging out there, but not a lot I can do.

I hope that the adapters that you have at the work ports are not brass.

Brass fittings are not rated to be used with the typical hydraulic system. A good chance that they will split. Otherwise pretty cool to get yourself 2 rear remotes for only $300. :thumbsup:

Nope not typical brass, but they are brass rated for hydraulics (3900 psi). Good to point out for the people who dont know however.

Hello Jason, your application is just what I am seeking for my BX24. Local dealer said I could not do this to my unit. The blower is a B2789 with hydraulic chute rotation & a manual deflector. I would to convert the deflector to hydraulics and be able to connect these to the rear hydraulics on the BX24. In your post you mentioned 3/8, 12", 30" & 36" hoses would be required. Why 3 hoses? Also where & how are these hoses connected, pics would be very helpful?

Hi. Check your PMs.

The hoses of those 3 lengths are the ones that run from my new AUX valve, down to the existing couplers for the backhoe on the tractor. These couplers are the ones you hook up to, to run the backhoe when its installed. The lengths on the BX24 should be near the same, but their could be difference depending on what valve you decide to use and where the ports are on that valve, and where you decide to mount the valve, so youll have to measure up your tractor to see what lengths youll need once you have a valve and have it mounted..

One hose on the valve is for Pressure. One is for PowerBeyond and one is for a return to Tank. The 4 hoses on top are for the deflector and rotator circuits on the blower, length on those will vary as well. Id post some pics of the back of the tractor, but I just broke the camera on my phone.

I will say its worth the effort, having power deflection and rotation makes blowing snow much easier.

Thanks for the response, really appreciate you taking the time to clarify some concerns. I have ordered some parts for my project, BM70, 2 spool directional control valve & 1 in bore x 6 in stroke threaded head utility cylinder from Princess Auto. Awaiting delivery soon! I have taken into consideration your observations you made wrt positioning of the spool. Obviously I will have to fabricate some kind of base bracket for the spool mounting, probably similar to your position on the ROPS, either way it will be close to the seat.
As for the hose connections, I have reviewed the owners manual for my BX24 & found it somewhat lacking in direction wrt the aux hydraulics section. Presently the return pipe is directly connected to the power beyond pipe, as the backhoe is removed. This why I was seeking some pics to eliminate any confusion as to which hoses are connected in their proper positions. Bummer about your camera is non functional.
