well the mice got in, and my dog decided to rip off the cover under the dash the metal screen, the bracket and ripped all the wires out from under the dash. I lost all dash display and was told that the wire harness is available ONLY as one complete strand (i.e, i can't just replace the dash wires to the fuse box)

Question: Has anyone done a complete wire harness replacement on the BX24? Were you able to snake everything or did it require a removal of the fender and floor board? Please let me know what to expect as i get into this job.

Trying to determine if this is a DIY job or a task for a service tech.

I would repair the harness make sure you use the same size wire.

If its beyond repair you could buy a new one install it were needed and tie in the 6 or 8 wires that go back to rear of tractor.
The ones under the hood shouldn't be an issue to get to.
I would lay it in parallel with the old one and disconnect the old plug the new one in should be relativity easy

put some dryer sheets in the dash area and under the hood change them weekly they seem to keep mice away.

What are "dryer sheets" ? I did find a mouse nest in my BX24 but it appears that I caught the problem in the nick of time. If someone steers me on the dryer sheets topic, I would appreciate it.

dryer sheets are those funny white fabric your wife uses in the dryer to prevent static in clothes. makes it smell good too. Bounce is one brand name.

will try the dryer sheet. good tip.
spoke to 2 other local Kubota dealers, neither have done the complete harness replacement; but both suggest that it means the removal of the floor board & fender. hope i have the right tools.

I took the floorboard off mine and all you need is standard tools. If you have both metric and standard socket and wrenches, you will be just fine. I haven't taken the fenders off yet, but you need to remove the ROPS first to remove the fender. have fun and take your time. It will take 2-4 hours just to take it apart I think. If you replace the whole harness, It would be great if you can post pictures of the harness being replaced.Who knows- sometime down the road I might have same issue as you.

able to loosen the floor boards, but struggling with the removal of the Rear Fender. took ROPS off, then there is the handle on the left ... a nut that needs a serious socket wrench extension to get any turn on it. Anyone ever remove this? know what size extension on the socket to use? Anyone ever take off that rear fender? after this there is the PTO dial (if thats what its called) and the belly mount adjusting dial. from the looks of it the large round handles of the dials need to be removed -how the heck do i take this off? My plan was to do all this breakdown tonight but got stuck on the fender.

So far as the wireharness goes - this is a big ole strand of wires with some real tight corners. they must make small hands in Georgia and Japan. this is somewhat reverse engineering to remove the old, add in the new, but man its tight.

please help me on the know how to remove the rear fender...

Did you buy the Kubota insurance policy for while you're making payments? I'm thinking that this would be a valid claim and let the service techs do the cussing....

yeah, let that policy expire a few years back. they'd cover Acts of God, not sure about Acts of Dog though ;). have a couple pics i'll post of the before. if you look under the dash and follow the instrument cluster it goes from there to the fuse box...crappy wires as thin as dental floss and they were shredded in all the worst places - soldering helped to some extent but couldnt get them all and replacing wires was not an option as some were shredded right at the gang plug. still wondering about this fender removal
