The big attraction to working with him, is there would be no state sales tax since he is delivering to another state. So the price is not supposed to include tax. The sheet he faxed me shows: BX24LB-R $15,950.00, RCK60B23BX $1,500.00, making a sub-total of $17,450.00, then it shows insurance $549.68, which he says I can get or just use my homeowners, which is what I will do since my agent is re-doing my policy to include it. The invoice also shows $105. 00 which he said was a finance charge that Kubota has, which I agreed to. But then it has "Total Additional Charges $674.68. Which he never mentioned to me. Unless that is an error, to me it means he is now untrustworthy in my book. If it is not an error he should have told me about it. Not to tell me is unethical, and if true, I won't be able to trust him after that. Which means the deal is dead. I've already been approved by Kubota so I guess I can buy it at any Kubota dealer. I would appreciate some buying advice. Thanks for the offer. It sure is frustrating to deal with people who are not honest. Did he not think I would notice $600? He probably thought I am some dumb city guy. Well I guess I might be, but not that dumb! VedderAdder.
Hmmm... $549.68 for insurance plus $105.00 for fees is $654.68. I assume that those are the extra charges, although I can't account for the missing $20.00. That plus the individual prices for the BX24 and the mower deck come out to $18,124.68, which is what you said in your first post. The "Total Additional Charges" are just that; the total of the additional charges already listed (insurance and fees).
The price may be high, but there isn't any funny business with the math! He's being completely honest and forthright in my book.
Anyone else care to do the math?
