Hi Sam. I wouldn't worry too much about the learning curve. Everything has that, and although when I got my BX it came in as the fourth tractor on my property, it still felt totally different to drive and get used to. But, unless you're someone who will wind up making history, you will get used to it pretty quickly.
As far as the stability, like other said, take it easy going sideways on slopes. I'm still a bit uncomfortable going some places on my property where I'd zip through without hesitation on my other tractors. Of course, these other tractors are much smaller, and I can lean to counterbalance. That doesn't exactly work with a BX.
It will stop quickly, especially when you're backing up in high range.
I spent about 10 minutes showing my wife how to operate our BX, and shortly after, she was zooming around with her hands up in the air like on a roller coaster and doing a decent job with the loader.
The BX really is a pleasure to drive.
