Hello All,
I've been lurking on this site now for about two months since I found it and want to send out thanks to all for the info I have learned from all the great posts! I know very little about tractors, but Im learnin.
Today I went up and test drove the new BX24...WOW. When I returned to the salesman I had spittle cascading down the side of my mouth and it probably looked like I swallowed a banana sideways! Nice little tractor.
I wanted to run the price buy you all and see what you all thought of it?
He is quoting me 16,700 for the BX24 with FEL, BH, & toothbar. He also gave me a price of 15,700 for the same setup on the BX23....Neither price is with MMM. Are these good prices?
Thanks in advance for any input.

jb,
Thanks for posting the web site. My price would appear to be high according to that, but Im not ready to buy for another month yet. I still have some time to look around and work with some prices..Just wanted to see where my local dealer was going to start at /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Thats unnessesarily high. There is about a $500 increase in actual cost (before programs) between the BX23 and BX24.

That "Guideline" tool has not been updated for two years and is pretty much out of date. The prices suggested bore no resemblance to real world prices I was quoted either by local NE dealers or via internet.

I was just at my local dealer today (getting free tickets for the Power Show) and he had a new BX24 sitting out front. The price on the tag was 15,999. This was just TLB, no mower. I imagine you could probably get it a little lower if you were serious about buying - as I imagine the prices listed on the tag are for before haggeling.

I would be all over the BX line myself if they were rated to carry more than a 48" 3pt mower, at least 60" preferrably 72".

I am new to this forum but have been reading posts and doing alot of research in the sub compact tractor market. I purchased a BX 24 today. I payed $16,800 +tax for TLB and60" MMM. Thought it was a decent price. Hope this helps

Hello Spaw65,
Thanks for the input. Still have not purchased yet. I plan on doing so within the next three weeks. Still torn between the BX24 and the MF GC2310. Any input on the two from anyone would help.... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

The MF gc2310 being less popular than the BX may make it harder to sell and it may fetch less money .

Have you looked at the GC2310? I did see one a month back, and was thoroughly unimpressed compared to the BX22. The backhoe was massive looking, and if it does not weigh significantly more than the BH600, then it is a very inefficient use of steel and fabrication. Even the backhoe bucket is straight out of the 70's, like what you see on the cheap import backhoes - looks like dirt would stick in that bucket pretty regularly. The tractor's operator station looked poorly laid out, too. I remember, way back when I was looking at sub TLBs, the Massey seemed much better on paper, but without ever being able to see one in person, I quickly discounted it.

All that being said, since I thought the GC doesn't even compare to the BX22 (which I have a lot of seat time on), and since I think the new BX24 is a big improvement over the BX22/23 (even though I haven't yet seen the BX24 in person), I'd say you'll be much happier and better off with the Kubota. My dealer certainly has been raving about the new BX24 since he recently received his first one, and he's sold a lot of BX22/23s since their introduction.

Bandit,
Thanks for the input. Im not very familiar with tractors yet, so any input helps. I looked at your photo albums. Your DX looks nice, I also like the Midwest rake. Will that be good for raking over newly cleared lot that still has roots in it?
Thanks,
dj

Yes, those rakes are great for prepping for new lawn, maintaining gravels drives, etc. I would suggest you may want to stick with a 5' rake as a subcompact will pull it easier than a 6' rake. I got the 6' rake figuring it would work when I needed to move up to a bigger compact machine. It is almost a bit too much for the subcompact when loaded with rocks or soil. And the gauge wheels are a must on a machine without draft control - I used mine for a while without them, and it was really a pain to get set just right. The wheels make a world of difference.

dj,
I am in the same boat as you in deciding between the GC2310 and the BX24. I finally was able to test drive a 2006 GC2310 this past weekend. I thought the GC2310 was nice but there were some things that I didn't like (compared to the BX24) such as the operator platform for the backhoe was way to cramped. The swivel seat was hard to operate. The oil filter for the HST is very low to the ground and unprotected. The things I really liked about the GC2310 was the design of the FEL specifically the fact the each arm had a hydraulic cylinder versus the single in the middle for the BX24. The pads on the stabalizers for the backhoe are much nicer on the GC2310. The tach on the GC2310 is nicer. All this is my IMHO. However I believe the BX24 is the much nicer machine.
It has better operater ergonomics. Much nicer backhoe and operator platform. It has an R4 tire option. Higher ground clearance. But the clincher for me in opting to buy a BX24 is the fact that I have 3 Kubota dealers within 40 miles of my home and 1 Kubota dealer 6 miles from were I work. I can get a BX24 at least $1,000 cheaper than the GC2310. There is only 1 MF dealer within 40 miles from me. I hope this helps!
P.S. I have not purchased a BX24 yet.

Give or take $200.00 that is good pricing I sell 20-30 of the BX TLB per year at those prices which includes delivery and hands training in all tractor operation, removing of FEL and BH and manual reviews

The BX Kubota being much more popular than the Massy 2310 it would seem to me that one would get a higher price for the Kubota than for the Massy or at least a quicker easier liquidation upon selling the tractor
